Just to clarify, my bank doesn't have anything to do with auto or liability insurance. This will be the case for most Europeans. The coverage it provides to me is for my own medical expenses and personal belongings. Is the SLI through the rental company not sufficient in the scenario you mention above?
Ah, I misunderstood which insurance you were getting from your bank. I guess that you
are getting a package rate from the rental company since both SLI and LDW are included. Those coverages should be sufficient, although I think that the Alamo SLI coverage limit is now only $300,000 USD. I'm not sure that you realistically have any options for additional liability coverage if you needed it, unless you opt to rent from Avis/Budget, which I believe has a $500,000 USD limit on its SLI.
