Quick update in case it helps others —
I decided to book with a company called Gotham Ride, based on a friend’s recommendation. They offer flat-rate black car service with meet-and-greet at JFK.
I’m flying in late next week, so will report back once I’ve tried them — but the booking process was super smooth, got a confirmation right away, and they guarantee the driver will be waiting inside the terminal with a sign.

Curious about two things, having never done the meet-and-great in the terminal at JFK:
1. What was the cost?
2. I'm curious how long it takes you to get out of JFK, given that once you find the driver (which should be quick), you have to walk to the car and then the driver has to drive to and pay at the exit. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but as someone who's always in a hurry (even when I'm not), I'm curious how long this takes!
