Time has come to leave the Peninsula today. First though another taxi run for me. One of the course members has an earlier flight for a later connection and no taxis are available before 9am and there are no buses to the airport. Good way to welcome tourists there, Guernsey.
Therefore a run to the airport just after 7am about 20 mins away. And i only got caught up in 1 cycle race!
The terminal at CGI is undergoing some work. Not a clue what for.

Checkin is a little busy for a Blue Islands flight

While the group is leaving today, we have a little time left as our ferry back to France is not until tomorrow evening.
We take a slow drive into town and try to check in again at the Moores. A different room this time overlooking the Pollet.

Still got the flowers, even on the second floor.

This room is smaller than before but it does have aircon

Though, the "fridge" they have provided is laughable.

With the insulation inside it's barely big enough for 2 drinks cans. A 1.5L bottle of water doesn't fit - just so they can get their star rating. There was room for a regular minibar sized unit elsewhere in the room, they just needed to think about it a bit

Later in the afternoon we go to a small family BBQ. Nice and relaxed

On the way back to the hotel and having parked the car, we stop in at the Thomas De La Rue pub which is on the corner of the Pollet just a few metres down from the Hotel. I've been dry all evening, so probably my last beer of the trip.

Sitting inside there's a karaoke night on and the volume of the music seems to be inversly proportional to the quality of the singers and shouters. We move downstairs for a table outside where it's much quieter.

Having finished up we go back to the room. Sadly while we had finished, the Karaoke hadn't and it goes on and on at that high volume. It's still going at 11.30pm as us oldies are trying to get some sleep, but the white noise of the air con seems to help us to sleep eventually.
