validity period - three full calender years from earning, so in this case they would expire Dec 31 2028.
promotion tickets - you need a lot of luck to find promo awards (especially in business class)
partner awards - just look at the award chart, ridiculously expensive and hard to book although there is a UI for booking Star Alliance awards
I do this challenge because I intend to use the miles for upgrades. upgrade availability is much higher than promo awards (promo-awards need I-availability, upgrades just need J-availability and cost the same as promo awards). As TK charges huge surcharges on award tickets it's often not more expensive to book the cheapest economy roundtrip and upgrade with miles. That way availability is very much higher and the cost for the economy ticket could be even cheaper than the surcharges on the award ticket.
