I thought Cathay said they don’t have block out periods for awards.
Looking to fly HKG to HAN (Hanoi) on 7 or 8 Feb. I can see plenty of availability up to 5 Feb and then nothing until 2 Mar - when availability is plentiful again.
On EF, the flight I want shows all business seats available. The flight is also being sold.
I understand this corresponds with Tet and CNY (albeit*, slightly earlier); is it just a case of not releasing awards due to the proximity to these events?
For reference, there is availability showing throughout this period for DM's in both Y&J. Probably similar to other holiday periods where availability is more selective initially (although 20/2 in Y seems to be available to anyone).
