We were there several hours but the airport did not have a jetway, nor did it even have air stairs, so we were stuck on the plane. Incredibly, and you can't just make this stuff up, the movie on the inflight monitors was "Groundhog Day" (this was pre-AVOD), and the FAs ended up playing this movie three times before we finally landed at DFW around 0300 local time (we were scheduled to land there around 2000).
I got diverted there on a CR-9. Right after we landed the severe weather hit there, trapping us on the plane for several hours. It also knocked out the runway and taxiway lights. So at 1am airline personnel were having to wake up people on the base asking them to turn the, back on.
