I replied with scans of my new passport and NEXUS card and it took a month to get a reply confirming the update. No problem when I used my NEXUS card to enter Canada at a land border for the first time this summer.
I hold a Canadian passport with NEXUS, and renewing my passport later this year.

Can anyone confirm this is still the case to update the passport, ie. you can email CBSA and update your passport information with a scan of NEXUS + new passport? Or is it required to visit an enrolment centre to get it done?
