The Four Points at JKIA is also good for an overnight although there are hard-biting midges in the courtyard. And I agree that 2 hours or so prior is fine (although you do sometimes need sharp elbows to maintain your place in line).
As an airline, I like KQ and fly them plenty as I have some interests in various safari operations in that part of the world
Seat is fine for sleeping, crews always delightful and J prices tend to be very good (certainly ex AMS). They also have a good regional network ex NBO and the Pride lounges are nice.
Only caveat for me is that I have had some dreadful food onboard (although never food poisoning dreadful thankfully). But I’d save the money vis an vis BA and spend it on the ground.
