If I use miles to book, the redemption is around 1.7 cents/mile on this itinerary, which at least to me does not seem a bad redemption rate for a main cabin domestic flight like this.
I am wanting to book all of the following on the same reservation (or at least the same PNR) and am trying to figure out best way to do it, hoping for help from FT'ers:
- Me paying cash fare for main
- Two children also on my reservation using companion certificates
- The other adult, Mrs. Rossodio, using my miles to book
- I want us all sitting together in MCE seats and don't want to have to pay for those seats (my EXP should take care of this for me and the two children, but wouldn't we all have to be on the same reservation? Can the compAAnion certificate booking folks I have to call also book Mrs. Rossodio with my miles?)
I am also wanting to ask - the cash fare I pay for main, if I am using companion certificates with it - will it be the same price that I see published on aa.com for a standard main cabin booking? Or could it be a higher fare?
Regarding MCE, you should be able to call and link the reservations (Not the same as being on the same PNR) and get the Mrs. co-located with you all without having to pay.
Someone more experienced than I may disagree (and know better) but I do not believe you will be able to have your spouse on the same PNR (Maybe if you pay cash it would work, but I don't think you can do that with the Companion cert - Max 3 people).
You should not have to call to use Miles for your spouses ticket.
