We will be landing at GRU at 7:45 arriving from IGU with GOL and continuing on Air France to CDG at 14:40. All on one ticket so I assume the bag will be checked through.
I'm considering going to the city in the meantime - I'm still a South American beginner and I don't think I will be ready to do a full visit to Sao Paolo anytime soon, so this sounds like a unique opportunity.
The idea is to leave everything but bare necessities at the airport storage, take an express train to Luz and metro to some nice area (I'm open to recommendations!). It seems this could take around 90 minutes each way, so that's 3 hours for a return trip. We want to be at the airport 2 hours before departure (hopefully that should be enough with SkyPriority and bags already checked-in) so that leaves around 2 hours. Some of it will be spent storing the carry-ons etc but I was thinking this still gives us 60-90 minutes to walk around the city and get a bit of a feeling of the city. Obviously not an awful lot of experience but beats sitting at the airport for 7 hours
Any thoughts? If we go, where should we go? Or is this too crazy?

Sounds a bit crazy to me. While some of your time assumptions seems logical, the 60 to 90 minutes in Luz could easily disappear due to unforeseen circumstances. Do you have access to multiple lounges? If so, there are quite a few at GRU, both domestic and international. Plaza Premium lounge even has a small land side lounge. So you might consider lounge hopping to pass the time. If you do this, document and post a review! :-)
