My reading here: inexperienced employee who doesn't have a clue what a Marriott Gift Card is. Perhaps they think you want to change the credit card used for the booking? The level of English is not up to the usual (fairly high) standard of Bali Marriott booking/reservation replies, so I would try asking again and perhaps add a line explaining what the gift card is, with a link to gifts.marriott.com.
