I recently booked a RTW on Star Alliance, originating in Tokyo. Flew the first segment a few days ago. I wish there was a more active Flyertalk thread for sharing information on Star Alliance RTWs. The analogous One World RTW thread is much more active.

Here is my itinerary, which may be helpful for members:



All flights between city pairs are direct on Star Alliance, except CGH > SDU which I need to organize separately (no Star Alliance options, although this counts as a flight segment on the RTW ticket). Based on Star Alliance arithmetic, this itinerary is 15 flight segments and 28806 miles. Just under the max limits of 16 segments and 29000 miles for a CRWSTAR1.

I'm interested in learning the opinions of others about this itinerary and *A RTW in general.
