Hi everyone,

We are traveling JFK-LHR on BA, arriving around 7 am. Continuing LHR to BUD on the same ticket at 8:45 pm. In between the two flights, we booked a room at the LHR airport Sofitel for day use so we can get some rest.

Would we be able to check our bags just to LHR so we can have them with us during the layover? And then re-check them to BUD in the evening?

If not, what are the odds that the bags would get lost with such a long layover?
