At least you were in Chicago. My ORD a few years ago got diverted to Milwaukee due to weather, an airport which was not used to wide-bodied aircraft, no staff to deal with anything once we landed, let alone hotels for passengers and crews and a storm rocking a full 777! The only option we were told was to wait for the storms to pass and try another approach into ORD. After 4hrs on the ground, with toilets all rapidly going out of service and discussions around crew hours, we finally got to Chicago.
