KQ lacks polish but is otherwise very comfortable. You get 222 seating which is fine for two couples, the food is OK, good drinks selection and a port and cheese service after the meal. I'd have no hesitation pocketing the fare difference and spending it on safari. Skyteam and I had benefits from Flying Blue, and on a previous trip ITA which were nicely respected. The crew are lovely, I never had a bad cabin crew member, but be prepared to use the call button as they don't patrol.

I flew ex CDG. One thing to be careful of is that they can run into rolling delays and although they sort things out very efficiently you don't want to be planning too much the day of arrival.
