Despite some significant overcrowding due to the holiday and the nightly music, I leave the W Mina Seyahi with continued positive impressions. For 625 AED, it’s hard to complain…
Pros:
- Hotel was basically completely sold out - only thing online was EWOW the night before arrival - however, they still upgraded me to a Fantastic Suite - albeit on the second lowest guest floor - still, I really appreciated the effort as they said this was their last possible suite
- Bed is fantastic - super plush mattress, plush covers, plush pillows, soft linens
- Unlike my last stay, the shower pressure was great and strong
- Generally comfortable living room couch for a W
- Design is fun and unique
- Proactively offered late checkout - no issue with requested 2 PM
- Breakfast is good - it was intensely busy but handled as best as it could have been - nice salmon Benedict and great bread pudding
Cons:
- Took about 20-30 minutes of waiting to check in (I think) - each desk had its own line without a centralized queue - each check-in took a very long time - once it finally got to my turn, I was told it takes a long time to scan all IDs for each guest (large families)
- The nightclub music is noticeable - it doesn’t stop until about 1:30 or so - I wasn’t needing to sleep until then anyway, so it was fine - but something to consider
I would absolutely come back.
