Well, as I said, I'm avoiding US like a plague and Canada also discourages me a bit (although to a much lesser extent - at worst they'll send me back, not to gulag). Customs are a non-issue, I just don't fancy the idea of flying half across the globe and then get sent back (let alone in economy! ). I'm in somewhat unusual life circumstances, which occasionally makes border guards suspicious of me, so I prefer destinations where they aren't worried about Europeans coming to steal their jobs
