Still sounds underwhelming, unless it also applies to AS metal revenue flights. It basically sounds like a 25K savings on an award (aka 12.5K per person). I typically book ow awards due to availability in finding space, and last minute changes as well.
The OW award methodology will be the real wrinkle on this perk. Sure you can use it RT, but good luck finding all the pieces falling together for a single booking. (Plus loss of flexibility or opportunity for error with changes down the road.)
