Before waitlist I could check using the seat map, but now on waitlist, that’s greyed out.
For my EWR-LAX flight, the upgrade offers were present on both the website and the app, just as if I didn't request a miles+cash upgrade. I could also view them by hovering over the seat map.
Now that I have requested an upgrade using miles+cash for EWR-MAD, there are no upgrade offers present, and like you, when I hover over the seat map everything is greyed out.
