Well Marriott responded saying "Your rate is prepay, as you can easily see in your app". My app clearly shows that my rate is cancellable until 3 days before the start of the stay. And nothing about prepaid conditions.

I can only recommend that people stay away from booking Sonder until Marriott and Sonder get their act together.
