AE never replaced their E190 because most of its international flying ended up being transferred to IT and CI. The remaining international destinations are all in China but operated using CI metal and crew but retains AE code because that is how the route authorities was allocated.

So not really sure if AE will need that many A321Neo unless there is a dramatic change in how CI operates its 3 airlines.
