lincolnjkc gave the technical explanation. The parking brake had been released; you “left.” In order to open the door again, the brake had to be re-engaged and the door opened; you “returned.” It appears that the flight was scheduled for a 10:10 arrival and you arrived at 10:15, officially on-time. So, no, UA wasn’t lying or “quoting the wrong reasons for [a] delay” — in fact, there was no delay.
