If you have not been provided a missing baggage reference yet then just go to the Qatar website and register it yourself again.

https://www.qatarairways.com/en-gb/b...ishandled.html

A missing baggage reference is usually of the format

airport airline 5numbers

Eg. LHRQR12345

Then it's a waiting game and you should sit on your hands as suggested above. With what has happened in Doha over the past few days your bag has probably been removed from the handling systems in Doha due to lack of capacity and is in a holding area that will be reprocessed as and when capacity permits.

To set your expectations you need to think of mishandled baggage a bit like a missorted letter in the post - unless you're a VVVIP no one is going to looking for your letter or bag. But just as a postie finds a letter in the wrong place they would put it in the correct bag for onward delivery, as soon as a baggage handler discovers or trips up over your baggage they will scan the baggage tag that is hopefully still attached to the bag, and the tag barcode will now link to the missing baggage reference and that will tell them how to reflight the bag or handle it for onward delivery.

Patience is a virtue. Most airlines use worldtracer and the updates vary between good, mediocre or nothing at all. Sometimes you'll get a call from a courier with your bag in their van "I'll be there in 30mins" before worldtracer even admits your bag is in the country.

Oh and there's rarely any point calling the airline, all they are going to do is look at the same worldtracer you do. Occasionally there are private notes they can see but you can't but in general it's usually a waste of time, especially in the first few days.

Good luck
