I'm wanting to get the CSR for the new SUB but currently have the CSP so I need to get rid of that before I apply for the CSR. I have a three week international trip coming up in about a month and want to be able to use the CSR for that to meet the spend. However, I've already put purchases for the trip on the CSP in order to trigger the trip protection. The main one being taxes for business class flights and prepaying a night for a bed and breakfast.

I know if I downgrade the CSP then of course I no longer have the trip protections. Any idea if it would work to product change the CSP to a Freedom, try for the CSR, then upgrade my new Freedom back to the CSP? Would I still have that trip insurance? I doubt it, but thought I would ask in case someone might have done this.

Alternatively, where I can purchase decent trip insurance that won't cost a ton? Or is there another way to trigger trip insurance with the CSR, if i get approved for that, without having to rebook my flights?
