Flying to Florida seems to be the real key here for some creative routings... BOS-DCA-TPA-RDU-BOS. Finding the weird cities that go to both BOS and a Florida airport.
This is totally right. I've been looking at it like this:
  1. The biggest cluster of airports is on the East Coast and in the Caribbean. Ignoring Europe, Central/South America for now.
  2. https://www.flightconnections.com can show you the nonstop destinations. It looks like it's probably easiest to complete this before October because a lot of routes end then (AVL-BOS, MVY-DCA).
  3. One problem is that a lot of airports only connect to BOS/JFK or the main Florida airports. Example: ORD, DTW. So if you do one of these airports, you essentially "waste" the return flight going back to a hub.
Here's a somewhat curated list of possible airports north and south of the Mason-Dixon line.
Chicago, IL (ORD) Hartford, CT (BDL) Portland, ME (PWM) Boston, MA (BOS) Hyannis, MA (HYA) Martha's Vineyard, MA (MVY) Nantucket, MA (ACK) Worcester, MA (ORH) Detroit, MI (DTW) Newark, NJ (EWR) Albany, NY (ALB) Buffalo, NY (BUF) New York, NY (JFK) New York, NY (LGA) Rochester, NY (ROC) Syracuse, NY (SYR) Westchester County, NY (HPN) Asheville North Carolina (AVL) Raleigh/Durham, NC (RDU) Cleveland, OH (CLE) Philadelphia, PA (PHL) Pittsburgh, PA (PIT) Providence, RI (PVD) Milwaukee, WI (MKE)

Washington, DC (DCA) Richmond, VA (RIC) Charleston, SC (CHS) Hilton Head, SC (SAV) Nashville, TN (BNA) New Orleans, LA (MSY) Atlanta, GA (ATL) Savannah, GA (SAV) Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL) Fort Myers, FL (RSW) Jacksonville, FL (JAX) Key West, FL (EYW) Miami, FL (MIA) Orlando, FL (MCO) Sarasota, FL (SRQ) Tampa Bay, FL (TPA) West Palm Beach, FL (PBI) San Juan, PR (SJU)

Of the above list, these are the ones you probably want to hit as they go to both BOS/JFK and Florida:
BDL PWM ACK BUF SYR RDU PHL PVD BOS JFK
Just to Florida: ORH EWR ALB LGA HPN
DCA RIC CHS FLL RSW MCO TPA PBI SJU

In terms of actual booking, the website won't let you book BOS-FLL-ORH as one ticket for example, maybe it has to be a multi-city?
