So true about UA. If you can get a partner/saver award for J at 176k round trip, you might be getting upwards of 4 CPP, but most of the J flights I have looked at are 400K round trip, so closer to 1.5-2. Of course, it all depends on what the fare is for the exact flights that you want (not to mention the issue of whether the C fare is the right one to use for CPP calc). Getting 1.5 cpp isn't a terrible value.
