Family & I recently stayed here a couple nights before a cruise (had been hoping to try out the Wildbirch but they did not switch over to Hyatt in time to have points availability before being completely sold out)

Pros:
- convenient downtown location; only ~4 blocks to the convention center for cruise transfer
- breakfast was suprisingly good compared to my low expectations for a 4P -- real scrambled eggs, good bacon 1 of 2 mornings (overcooked on the 2nd), sausage, breakfast potatoes, waffle maker, plus reasonable continental selection given the 4P context.
- friendly and responsive staff
- it was a reasonable points redemption considering cash rates were sky-high due to probably the cruise, the marathon going on later in the weekend, and general summer Alaska tourism

Cons:
- some maintenance issues and property showing some age, though amusingly the rooms page still describes it as "New all-suite hotel in Anchorage Downtown":
- our door did not latch closed unless you _really_ leaned into it
- the elevator was super janky; once it went to the 3rd floor and we sat there for longer that you would expect until someone hit the open door button and the door opened; another time it failed to open and we started moving down again; yet another time it skipped the 2nd floor entirely despite someone having pressed that button. Luckily with only 3 floors the stairs are a reasonable alternative (esp if you room is at one end or the other) unless you have heavy luggage. The reaction from the front desk when mentioning the elevator made it sound like a known issue
- the side exit door on one side had a reader on it like you were meant to be able to scan a keycard to enter but we couldn't get it to work
- no ventilation fan in the bathroom, and other than two towel racks and a wobbly hook on the door, nowhere to store anything (e.g. no shelf in the shower if you bring your own toiletries) -- the sink is outside in the bedroom area
- on the other hand, there's a fan mounted in the wall above the door between the bedroom and the sitting room, probably for air flow if you close the door in between the two, but it is super loud
- if you are there where it is hot enough to want AC during the day but cold enough to want heat at night, be aware that the HVAC does not switch mode automatically, you have to manually change it from one to the other
- I had just kind of ...-u-med that the sofa in the sitting room would be a pullout, but it's not -- we requested a rollaway, which was had a very thin mattress, so I decided to sleep on the couch instead the 2nd night even though it was slightly shorter/narrower because at least the cushioning was better, but you have to pick your tradeoff...
- website photos show a TV in the sitting room; our room didn't have one, just a bureau containing the mini-fridge and some drawers

Granted that some of these are minor/trivial inconveniences

Misc:
- We didn't park a car so can't speak to that. ~$20 Uber from the airport.
- for the nostalgia hunters, saw at least one towel with a Starwood-branded tag
