Stayed there last weekend on Ambassador BOGO. This is about the 4th stay in the last 4 years. The ambassador upgrades appear to be getting progressively worse.
Going from the inner courtyard, to side facing Bubba Gump restaurant, this time it was across the street with a "Bay View" and the street below(no privacy).
The annex is really only convenient for exiting and entering if you're headed to the garage or up the hill.
I still prefer to park in the Cannery Row garage as opposed to the Hotels($45 vs $25) and only one more block if you don't need in/out privileges. Although, when we left late utilizing the 4 pm checkout, it charged for 2 days at $40 vs $45. The day before, we left on our excursions around 9am and was charged $20 day flat + $5 after 4 or 5 pm =$25. So, not sure when the cutoff is so may only be $40 v $45.

Overall, still a solid place in a "nice little neighborhood". Actually used the pool for the first time ever, don't think hardly anyone ever bothers when 3 people make it crowded.
Fitness Center, small but never is crowded.
The big gripe, of course it didn't get rung up as BOGO nor $20 food credit so had to go to the Lobby to checkout to get it fixed.
With the weekend BOGO rates, typically it's been around $600-$700 a night before taxes.

Have noticed, more and more, the clientele is steering to couples with young kid(s). Strollers all over.
If not aware, for headed to Fisherman's Wharf or Downtown, the City has a free shuttle during the Summer but runs only til 6pm, but the walk back from Fisherman's Wharf is pretty nice at Sunset.
