Usually can’t upgrade flights online
Potentially some diffficulty with same day change of eligible flights, usually can’t do online
If using a holiday to maximise TPs for one member of a family then will be on different PNRs with associated potential problems in IRROPS/downgrade/upgrade, potential issues at the hotel with incorrect number of people listed for room

I was speaking with one of our esteemed Ambassadors and we were musing that in future the system won’t be gamed by “tier point runners” but instead by “ultra expensive hotel night runners”! There are certainly ways to get yourself to Gold in one holiday with BAH…
In my case there is a major price disadvantage to booking with BA for both the hotel and flights. I’m looking at a trip to GIB and have looked at pricing the hotel and flight separately, and then a BAHoliday price. The same room and flights separately come to £2,295 including breakfast, the same thing on BAH is £2,954. To get to that price I have to select the most expensive business class option for each flight and only then it is £69 more than the BAH price.

I know BAH pricing is opaque but that’s a serious chunk of change at £659
