I hope this is the right forum. Flying YYZ-IAH-HNL next month. Connection time between flights is 63 minutes, which is legal as far as I know. I did not book this flight and would prefer more time to connect.

You will pre-clear US immigration and customs in Toronto. You will be a "domestic" arrival in IAH. Just walk to your gate for HNL. That is plenty of time. Checked bags can transfer faster than you can get to the next gate.
If there is a delay and you miss the flight, United will put you on the next available UA flight to HNL. On the week I checked in July, there is only IAH-HNL flight per day Sunday through Friday and two flights on Saturday. If you are booked on the last flight of the day then a missed connection will mean an overnight delay or rerouting through another hub.
