I buy it when I have a late evening flight because the "trip delay" coverage kicks in with a 6-hour delay
or if the flight is delayed past 11:00 p.m. (So, in theory, even a delay from 10:55 p.m. to 11:05 p.m. would trigger coverage, although the shortest delay I've claimed was something like a 10pm flight being pushed past midnight, I bailed and got a hotel.) $300/person for the trip delay coverage actually covers a decent airport hotel, and the policy is $20/person for a round-trip of any length (such that it permits a claim for one trip delay that happens at any point during that round trip).
