have cost had you booked economy instead of Premium at the initial booking
thus for compensation of a downgrade

It seems absolutely absurd you spend say $800 for a premium seat, get downgraded and placed in a seat you could have purchased for $300 in the first place and get $50 compensation AND no fare difference.
