Some more info about Basin Glacial Waters that I've learned:
BGW is a totally separate entity from the CLL Fairmont Spa and will not bundle services at all. There goes the hope of using insurance to cover the cost haha. The Basin will not be offered as a perk for HERA, Virtuoso, etc. for the foreseeable future either. I did notice in the ALL app that you can book BGW as an add-on when booking a room in the late Fall now and I don't see it as an included amenity in any room tier at this time. They truly want to keep the Basin experience as an exclusive thing. I wonder what it will look like in peak summer in 2026 though when the property is at capacity. Lots of time to test it until then I guess.
No, it's just holiday--I leave my work laptop at home! I have the Two Bedroom Gold Lakeview Suite booked. We've stayed hundreds of nights there over the past dozen-or-so years; every July/Aug for hiking, and every Feb/March for skiing. And I managed to score Lake O'Hara bus tickets for our group on 5 different days across our dates this summer!
I do wonder if they will do different things with Basin depending on the time of year. I wouldn't bundle any access with room types or status during high season, when the hotel sells out anyway. But, in the off-season (ie. late Oct and November), I would be surprised if they don't really lean in on some wellness packages, to use Basin to drive more accommodation bookings at a time when the hotel is basically empty and room rates are at their lowest. It will be interesting to see what they do over time.
Do let us know what it's like after your October visit! I'm really excited to try it, but still bummed I have to wait until February. I'm then back again in July 2026 (which I booked way back in Feb 2024, before bookings were generally open, to ensure I get the suite I want).
