We discussed this recently in the "
9 hour DOH layover" thread.
The bottom line is that the complimentary hotel room during a "Stopover For the Purpose of Connection" is provided only to passengers on Qatar marketed flights, that is, holding Qatar issued tickets, codeshare flights do not qualify even if the flights are on Qatar metal.
The restriction is buried in the
Policies section of the Qatar website:
STPC Policy Summary; check under the Non-Eligibility tab.
STPC Eligibility Criteria for Qatar Airways Flights, Code-share Flights and Interline Flights:
The STPC eligibility criteria for Qatar Airways Flights, Code-share Flights and Interline Flights is given below:
Qatar Airways Flights - If both flights i.e. arrival in Doha and departure from Doha are marketed as well as operated by Qatar Airways then complimentary STPC or STPC via collection of charges can be permitted depending on factors such as lack of immediate connection at Doha and eligibility via RBD;
Code-share Flights - Complimentary STPC or STPC via collection of charges is permitted if one of the flights connecting at Doha is marketed and operated by Qatar Airways and the other flight is marketed by Qatar Airways but operated by another airline (PP - partner carrier).
