Also, from either Pier 79 or Battery Park City, you can take a NY Waterway Ferry to the Hoboken/NJ Transit Terminal stop, from which you can take either NJ Transit (via Secaucus) or the PATH to Newark Penn, or you can take NJ Transit to the EWR rail station, avoiding the 62 bus (but paying a little extra for the fare). That doesn't let you visit the Oculus or WTC, though.
