Hoping some kind soul can help me out....
We are booked on BA206 29/12/2025 through Aer Lingus and have zero loyalty either with BA or OW, silver with AL (not that that will help!)
1) This flight has been flying on A380s for a long time and everywhere I've looked including Expertflyer show that still to be the case for our date, but BA show it as B787 (nothing more specific). I would assume BA have a better idea of their intent, but it means I can't see a current seat map as we're locked out of BAs seat choice because we booked AL. Would it be an imposition for someone who has access to such information to check and post the current BA seating map for Club World for this flight?
2) How can I see what the price would be to pay to book seats? We'll be at sea when the 24 hour checkin opens, so I'm open to paying a reasonable amount to get seats sorted.
3) What's the best way to get in touch with BA to book seats? I've tried chat and phone but had no luck getting through on either. The phone number the email support gave me has an automessage giving a number for <72 flights but no other options.
I've read that this route has frequent aircraft changes - if I pay for seats and an aircraft change leaves me with less desirable seats, are refunds possible?
As an Aer Lingus customer, will I even have online access to checkin and seat booking at <24hrs. There's currently so little access on the BA site and app that I'm sceptical that I'll get the necessary access. We have another leg booked with AL and operated with AA and their site is so much more accommodating - I know they have a "partnership' but so do AL/BA.
