Called in to modify a reservation at an Andaz a short while back around 8am ET. The agent informed me that the request could only be handled by the “luxury hotels department” mentioned upthread. She put me on hold for a minute or two, but came back and informed me the hold would be about an hour, and recommend calling back then. A very odd experience.
