I managed to luck out and get a flight on ZK-OXE tonight on NZ378 from Christchurch to Wellington. Was keen to try Starlink. I hadn't realised they put two dishes on the plane, not just one.
Overall it worked great. It turned on at about 1000 feet, then off just at we turned off the runway. Connected without the need of the captive portal currently. I managed to get speeds happily around 400/50 Mbps. Peak was about 456/68 Mbps and latency was around 30 ms. Youtube, worked fine, tried some big file downloads and that worked well. Speedtest.net video test said I could do 2160p without buffer. Tried a VPN connection with no trouble and generally used data on my phone.
Lol, faster than my internet at home.
I'll be onboard OXE on Thursday - I'll send my results.
