Policies sold when buying a ticket only covers your flight and only covers date you are flying. For a comprehwnsive policy fo to allianz or travelguard and buy an appropriaye policy. If you don't travel much, an annual policy might be the way to go as it lasts for a year and is usually pretty affordable, especially for the medical coverage it provides,
I don't know about that. I had purchased through Allianz when I purchased AA tickets for my family to go to London & Scotland a couple years ago. My grandfather passed away a few days before we were to leave, so we canceled it. Fortunately, everything was refundable except for a tour we had purchased and train tickets. Allianz reimbursed us for those.
