Allianz trip protection on AA.com Worth it?

Was booking one way award flight on AA.com from ORD-BLR 08/09, 2025 and the flight is Etihad. In the check out, it shows ALLIANZ trip protection for $28.

I have never booked trip protection before. Is this worth it? It will cover and pay me for delayed or loss bags, hotel stays or sickness and dental while abroad?
Received an email from Allianz about the coverage and it shows trip start date of 08/09 and return date of 08/10. Don't know what that means. My arrival to BLR india is on AUG 10, staying for about 2-3 days and than going to Sri lanka or Nepal for few days and returning back to ORD. Will this cover me from start to end of my trip ? If this $28 worth of trip protection is not suitable for my travel plan, I will cancel it as it gives 14 days to cancel. Thanks
