We have QR itineraries in business class (I), which we have booked through AA. The flights have AA numbers, 81XX and 82XX.
This is what I have learned since I bought the ticket.
We will be earning Loyalty Points and AAdvantage Miles based upon the purchase price of the tickets. Had we purchased the itinerary directly from QR, the LP and miles earnings would have been based on the distance flown (the difference in LP/miles earnings is insignificant).
We will have access to the Al Mourjan Business Lounges in DOH. There are also
Emerald and Sapphire oneworld lounges at DOH which we can use. However, we are not eligible to receive the
free hotel room in DOH, which we would have gotten had we bought the tickets directly from QR (we have an 8+ hours layover in one direction).According to the AA confirmation, we are each entitled to check two bags, weighing up 70 lbs. per bag. When I pull the reservation up on the QR website or app, it shows no allowance for checked bags. That makes little sense, as we both have
oneworld Emerald status, that alone gives us additional 20 kgs or one free bag on top of the business cabin allowance. However, this does not matter for this particular trip, as we are not checking bags due to limitations while travelling in our destination countries, but this is something to watch out for.
