Two of the main things that come to mind are:
1. Award / Loyalty Points Mile Accumulation (wife is Executive Platinum and we use the Citi AA Executive Card). *I think she would come out ahead booking on the AA website, since it would be 4x per dollar spent using the AA Credit Card and 11 Miles per Dollar on the Airfare itself since she is EP. Please correct me if my assumption is wrong.
2. Does booking Business Class via the AA Website still comes with Qatar Airways lounge access in Doha?
Before booking, I just want to make sure we wouldn't lose out on any 'benefits' if we booked via the American Airlines Website instead of directly on the operating carrier's website, Qatar Airways.
Are there any other pros and cons to booking Qatar Airways operated flight on the AA website, as opposed to the Qatar website?
Any other feedback or thoughts you have, I'd certainly welcome it.
Thank you very much.
1: It depends on the class of service, distance, and cost of flight. If you're booking a cheap ticket, it's better to book with Qatar, expensive with AA. Unfortunately you don't mention cost, QR booking code, or distance, so I can't double check your math
2: You should, although someone much smarter than I can confirm/deny - I'm pretty sure it was only with AAwards where lounge access wasn't included
It also depends where you want your money should you need to cancel. AA will definitely give you credit for a future flight, Qatar it will depend on a number of factors.
