This is the part that is insane. So we have to project at the beginning of 2016 how many plus points were going to able to use by the end of the year? If there was any theoretical way to gauge how many PP I would have at the end of the year, this might be acceptable, but since UA is the one that determines how much PZ will be open, this feels like an un-fun Monty Haul situation where we’re basically being asked to bet against ourselves. Risk sacrificing upgrades later in the year, or risk expiring PP… Which do you choose? Once this gets officially announced, I’m definitely going to write in and give them a piece of my mind about this, and I think we all should as well. It feels like a deliberate slap in the face, frankly.
Plus Points has always been a gamble--whether to use them or otherwise pay for premium cabin. Now they are giving you an additional new opportunity to gamble for something else--whether to use them for perks or keep them to gamble for upgrades. If you don't like the new gamble, you are completely free to ignore the opportunity & pretend it doesn't exist. In that scenario, nothing changes at all for you. I am not seeing how this is a "slap in the face"?
