Wow! That is amazing that is how JAL operates. You can just tell the difference in service on JAL compared to U.S. airlines. JAL FAs and crew are very customer service oriented when I flew them. It is too bad the AA crew could not solve the problem with the overhead bags and had to have someone removed. Sounds like these types of crews need training. They could have easily moved their bags. FAs also have access to where people are sitting now with IPADs and phones so they could have chosen an area of the plane where there would have been room for bags. It seems like American needs to designate certain areas for crew bags and have that area labeled for crew bags only. Would be interesting to see the video if released to co firm which side of the story was correct.
