Recent visit and my 8th. Booked a pavilion garden king and upgraded to palace park view in the corner (has two balconies) and now my regular room here.
Some things fell short this time. Pool is still closed for repairs having promised an earlier reopening. Was delayed a few times. You can hear some construction noises in the day. Bathroom fixtures showing age, i.e. leaky faucets and moldy caulking. Turn down service only provided for first night. No welcome gift or note card this time.
Breakfast quality seemed to have dived a bit. Over oily champignons, under seasoned scrambled eggs and burnt coffee (got my fix from Moelleux Café down the street). But the staff were really friendly and that made up.
Front desk made a mistake with my prepaid booking during check out. If I had done an express checkout, they would have charged an extra €700. Reason? Apparently the official website I booked from is different from their system.
Still a magical stay with the cool weather and picnic in the park.
Had my meals at Quille in town. Highly recommended for the area.
