I flew United metal from MSY-IAH-CRP but in IAH they kept delaying the flight till they eventually canceled it at about 0900 when attempting to rebook I found all flights to CRP had been canceled till the next morning. I went ahead and took a taxi to Hobby airport from IAH and flew from Hobby to CRP on Southwest. Unfortunately I had no way to collect my bag at IAH and now United is telling me that since I flew Southwest home even though it was a different ticket and airport that Southwest was responsible for getting my bags from Houston to Corpus Christi. Southwest says I didn't check bags so its not their issue.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
If I understand your post correctly, you abandoned your bags after delays and cancellations while planning to connect at one airport in Houston and flew to Corpus Christi on your own arrangements from a different airport in Houston on a different carrier. If my understanding is correct, I fear that you may be on your own in retrieving your bags.
