I saw a reenactment of the Wilderness (Virginia is practically littered with battlefields) battle about 25 years, its something one should do at least once. Assume they probably also do such at Perryville on occasion since it was so instrumental in the KY segment of the war. If you ever drive Route 20 down from NoVa you drive right through Wilderness and it is rather dense forest.
