I actually flew into SYD last time and out of BNE. While BNE to SYD is an hour away, from SIN it seems they are about 30 to 40 mins difference. Not enough for a 2nd hot meal it seems! But interesting when you consider it usually costs more to fly SQ than CX or CI on this route. The only things that give SQ an advantage is frequency and shorter average overall flight times.
