Same day change to later flight possible?

Hi,

Is it possible to change to a later connecting flight for free? I will have a overnight connection with my ticketed connecting flight at 9am. Can I change it to the later flight at the airport on my arrival day? The later flight is within 24 hours when I arrive at PTY. Prefer to sleep in and have breakfast at the hotel first if possible.
