I so rarely ever stay outside of Hyatt's footprint, especially in this market category (just don't travel to the boonies all that much), but a couple of weeks ago I had to stay in a Marriott branded competitor for HP/HH. Though the breakfast options looked more interesting at first glance (i.e. heated up breakfast sandwiches), it was all way worse. The sandwhiches were terrible (and I eat certain types of frozen breakfast sandwiches at home when I am busy, so it's not like my standards are all that high), the scrambled eggs were dry in water, and the boiled eggs were like rubber. I couldn't take a second bite of any of it on any of the days there. And the room was in a very bad shape with a AC unit that made a loud clicking noise everytime it came on.

So, maybe I am too harsh on HP/HH. The last several visits I have had all had a decent sleep still with a breakfast of pork sausage, decently made boiled eggs, and decent oatmeal.
